You don't have to be a quilting queen to master this technique. With nothing more than a few patterned paper scraps, some dimensional adhesive and a sewing machine, April Massad turned her scrapbook page into a cozy creation. To create each "quilted" square, she adhered her pattered paper squares with dimensional adhesive to provide a stuffed, quilted appearance. She then stitched the squares to her page and roughed up the edges a bit to further the "fabric" feel.

Creating a faux quilting look with patterned paper is easy. All you need are a sewing machine, some dimentional adhesive and a few square scraps of paper. Here's what you do:

1. Adhere patterned paper squares to cardstock with foam squares.

2. Stitch the squares tight to your paper to cause the paper square to puff like a quilt. Leave a small edge around the outside of the paper.

3. Tear or distress the edge with your fingernail to create the look of fabric.

4. Repeat with each square until you've created a full, beautiful paper quilt.
