Top Five Ways to Store Ribbon with Ease

Ribbon feels like the sprinkles on the scrapbooking cake, beautifully topping off pages with a splash of color and texture. And as easy as this supply is to use, it's even easier to purchase, which means storage solutions are in order. Whether you have large spools or small, straight strands or scraps, we have answers that will keep your stunning collection neat and tidy.

1. Small Spools

Smaller drawer units with dividers (like this one from Target) work wonderfully when it comes to sorting and storing bitty ribbon spools. Simply separate your ribbon in a way that works for you (color, theme, manufacturer, etc.) and tuck them away until you're ready to play.

2. Larger Spools

Don't shy away from larger spools of ribbon just because they won't fit neatly in a drawer. Instead, cut a long strand of ribbon in half, knot it at the end, thread your spools and hang them on a hook where you can easily access them.

Tip: When selecting a hook to hang your spools from, look at one that rests slightly away from the wall, which will allow your spools to hang properly.

Tip: If you have more spools than will fit on a single hook, don't be afraid to hang several hooks or use a towel rack like this one from IKEA .

Bonus Idea
Do you have more horizontal wall space than vertical? Use a small ledge shelf to hold your larger spools.
